TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
Product: 60″ Class 150 Extended Bonnet Buried Double Offset Rubber Seated Butterfly Valve
- VALVE DESCRIPTION
The valve is a double offset (double eccentric), rubber seated butterfly valve engineered for buried service in water and wastewater applications. The design features an extended bonnet and stem to place the operator above ground. The double offset geometry ensures low-torque operation and bubble-tight sealing with minimal seat wear. For underground corrosion resistance, the valve exterior is protected with a specialized coal tar paint system.
- DESIGN STANDARDS
- Valve Design: API 609 Category B (Double Flanged, Double Offset)
- Pressure/Temperature Rating: ASME B16.34 Class 150
- Flange Drilling: ASME B16.47 Series A (MSS SP-44) / ASME B16.5 compatible
- Face-to-Face: Manufacturer’s standard for buried service, based on API 609
- Testing & Inspection: API 598 (Zero Leakage)
- Buried Service Extension: Designed per AWWA M44

- CORROSION PROTECTION (CRITICAL FOR BURIED SERVICE)
Per client specification, the external surfaces of the buried valve are protected by a Coal Tar Paintsystem, a specialized coating highly resistant to soil corrosion, moisture, and microbiological attack.
- External Coating System (Body, Bonnet, Extension Tube):
- Material: Coal Tar Enamel Paint / Coal Tar Epoxy Paint
- Application System: 1 coat of coal tar primer + 2 coats of coal tar finish.
- Minimum Dry Film Thickness: 400 µm (16 mils).
- Surface Preparation: Abrasive blast cleaning to Sa 2.5 (ISO 8501-1) / SSPC-SP10.
- Properties: Excellent adhesion, high electrical resistivity, impervious to water and aggressive soils.
- Internal Coating (Wetted Parts):
- Material: Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE), min. 250 µm.
- Certification: Suitable for potable water (WRAS / NSF 61 optional).
- Color: Blue or black.
- DOUBLE OFFSET DESIGN FEATURES
- 1st Offset: Stem axis offset from the seat plane, allowing friction-free disengagement.
- 2nd Offset: Stem axis offset from pipe centerline, ensuring a continuous uninterrupted sealing surface.
- EPDM Seat: Excellent aging resistance, bubble-tight shutoff, and long service life in water.
- EXTENDED BONNET / BURIED SERVICE DETAILS
- Configuration: Flanged extension bonnet with anti-corrosion coating.
- Extension Length: Customized to client’s depth of cover (ground to pipe crown).
- Indicator: Visual position indicator integrated in the gearbox.
- Optional Accessories: 2″ square operating nut, street box, floor stand.
- TESTING & CERTIFICATION
- Hydrostatic testing per API 598: Shell (1.5x) and Seat (1.1x) with zero leakage.
- Material certificates to EN 10204-3.1 available on request.
- Coating inspection: Holiday testing at 1000V to ensure pinhole-free application of coal tar paint.
