- SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS & REMARKS
- Free Forging Process
Valve body shall be manufactured from open die forging using ingot or large billet.
Machining from bar stock or casting is NOT acceptable.
- Reduced Port Design
Flange size: NPS 12
Internal seat bore and throttling area: Equivalent to NPS 10
Designed for precise pressure and flow control.
- Hardfacing & Wear Resistance
Seat and disc contact surfaces shall be hardfaced with Stellite 6 or equivalent.
Minimum hardness after welding: 350–450 HB.
- Nondestructive Examination (NDE)
Body forging to be ultrasonically tested per ASTM A388.
Critical areas (seat, bore, welds) to be MT or PT examined.
- Compliance
Valve design, materials, and testing to fully comply with API 6A (if choke valve) and API 6D (pipeline valve) requirements.
