- Special Requirements / Options
- Pressure Rating: Class 125 / PN10 / PN16
- Flange Standard: ASME B16.1 Class 125 / ASME B16.5 Class 150 / EN 1092-2 PN10/PN16
- Seat Type: Integral / Renewable bronze seat rings
- Wedge Material: Bronze (Standard) / Cast Iron with Bronze overlay / Stainless Steel
- Stem Material: Brass (Standard) / Stainless Steel (304/316) / Bronze
- Bonnet Type: Bolted bonnet (Standard) / Screwed-in bonnet
- Packing Material: Graphite / PTFE / Non-asbestos
- Handwheel: Malleable iron / Ductile iron / Cast iron
- Test Certificate: EN 10204 Type 2.2 / 3.1
- Special Cleaning: For potable water / Oxygen service
- NACE Compliance: MR0175 (Requires material upgrade)
- Accessories: Locking device / Extension stem / Position indicator / Chainwheel / Gear operator (for larger sizes)
Design Notes:
- Rising Stem (OS&Y) : The stem rises when the valve opens, providing clear visual indication of valve position. Stem threads are outside the valve body, protected from the media, allowing for easy lubrication and longer service life.
- Handwheel Operation: Provides mechanical advantage for easy operation. Standard rotation is clockwise to close.
- Bronze Trim: Provides excellent corrosion resistance and long-term reliable sealing. Bronze-on-bronze seats are standard for water and low-pressure steam services.
- Cast Iron Body: Suitable for non-shock applications; must be protected from rapid temperature changes and water hammer.
- Flanged Connections: Conform to ASME B16.1 Class 125 standards, allowing for easy installation and removal from pipeline.
Application Notes:
- Suitable for: Water distribution, wastewater, irrigation, fire protection, HVAC, and general industrial services.
- Not suitable for: High-pressure steam, severe thermal cycling, or highly corrosive fluids (consult manufacturer for material upgrades).
- Installation: Can be installed in any position. Ensure proper gasket selection for flange sealing.
Note: This datasheet is prepared for a Rising Stem Gate Valve with cast iron body, bronze seats, brass stem, flanged ends (ASME B16.1 Class 125), and handwheel operation per MSS SP-70 / API 598. Ensure selected materials, pressure rating, and trim are compatible with the specific service conditions.
