  1. RTJ Flange Sealing Features

4.1 Preferred Sealing for High Pressure

  • RTJ sealing principle – Metal ring gasket is compressed into the flange groove, creating a metal‑to‑metal line contact seal. Ring materials include soft iron, 304/316 SS, or Inconel.
  • High‑pressure capability – RTJ joints are specifically designed for Class 600 and above, maintaining reliable sealing under temperature fluctuations and pressure surges.
  • Easy maintenance – Ring gaskets can be reused if undamaged and are simple to replace.

5.3 Actuator to Valve Connection

  • Mounting standard – ISO 5211 top flange (F10 / F12 / F14, etc., based on torque)
  • Connection method – Bracket + coupling to ensure concentricity and reliable torque transmission
  1. Caractéristiques principales

6.1 High‑Pressure Globe Valve Characteristics

  • Reliable high‑pressure sealing – Disc and seat are hardfaced with Stellite for high hardness, wear resistance, and erosion resistance under high differential pressure.
  • Flow under the disc – Media enters below the disc, ensuring tight shut‑off as pressure assists sealing.
  • Blowout‑proof stem – Stem design prevents ejection under pressure.

6.2 Pneumatic Actuator Advantages

  • High output torque – Piston design provides greater torque than diaphragm actuators, suitable for high‑pressure valve operation.
  • Fast response – Pneumatic actuation offers quick opening/closing for emergency shutdown and frequent cycling.
  • Fail‑safe capability – Spring return actuators automatically return to a safe position (open or closed) upon air supply failure.

6.3 Overall Reliability

  • Low emission – Packing meets ISO 15848 fugitive emission standards.
  • Fire safe – Optional API 607 construction for flammable media.

  1. Installation & Maintenance Notes

8.1 Installation Precautions

  • Flow direction – Install according to the flow arrow on the body (flow under the disc).
  • RTJ flange installation:
    • Inspect flange grooves and ring gasket surfaces for scratches or debris before installation
    • Ensure the ring gasket is properly seated in the groove
    • Tighten bolts evenly in a cross pattern to the specified torque
  • Air supply – Ensure clean, dry air supply; install an air filter regulator lubricator upstream.

8.2 Commissioning & Operation

  • Initial status – Verify the valve is in a safe position before applying air pressure.
  • Speed control – Adjust opening/closing speed with flow control valves if needed.
  • Limit switch adjustment – Ensure position feedback signals correspond to fully open/fully closed positions.

8.3 Maintenance

  • Regular inspection – Check air supply pressure, air line sealing, and actuator operation.
  • Packing adjustment – If slight leakage occurs at the packing, carefully tighten the packing gland.
  • Ring gasket replacement – When disassembling RTJ flanges, inspect the ring gasket for damage and replace if necessary.
